The Dialogue with Cheyanne Channie Marston

This feature is a question-and-answer session with a new Blount County Chamber member. So, here we go with our 204th installment visiting with Cheyanne Channie Marston, Executive Director and Founder of C.C.Marston & Company which assists those looking for answers regarding senior health care options.

Describe more about what you do. We work with the aged and their loved ones so they can confidently navigate the challenges of this life stage. We advocate, counsel and advise. We listen, direct and care. We want seniors to focus on living and enjoying, and not spend time worrying, toiling or regretting.

How do you further assist? Mostly we consult with older adults and their loved ones to help them see what options are available when crises arise. Most people don’t know how to hire let alone vet in-home care givers. Most people don’t know what to look for or what questions to ask when considering long term care or assisted living options. Most people don’t know what home modifications to make in order to stay living in their own home longer. We help with all of that; we tour facilities with you, we ask the hard questions, we make recommendations and suggestions. We don’t pressure you in one way or another, we work with you until you are confident in making those choices for yourself.

How did you get started? After moving to the area several years ago, which was right after the most recent Medicare overhaul and right before COVID, these two events put a great damper on Cheyanne’s career in the field of Occupational Therapy. With marketable skills, even without a formal employer, she was able to keep afloat with several private clients who needed services she could provide. This experience showed that it’s more than possible to be independent and that you don’t have to work for someone else. With that, the seed for starting this business was planted.

Describe your customers. Our customers are primarily the elders in our community, but also their loved ones (family and caregivers). We hope to be a resource for the disabled as well.

What do you enjoy about the business? Feeling as if I make an impact but mostly it’s connecting with people. We have a lot to offer and we want people to utilize us, but the human connection is what it’s really all about.

I really am passionate about what it is that I aspire to do and the difference I want to make. Advocacy, connection, support, and a proactive combatter of loneliness are some of the things I want people to associate with me when they think of the services I provide. I want to be the stand-out, and viewed as the authority in my field, the person that comes to mind when a need arises that I can help with.

The Dialogue with Kendra Longworth

So, here we go with our 202nd installment visiting with Kendra Longworth, chief operating officer with Business Draft, which is the career acquisition platform that helps candidates and organizations match, connect, and hire faster.

Business Draft features an unprecedented tailored matching system which aligns candidates and companies based on their unique skills and requirements, in addition to an extensive range of interactive profile tools which use video response technology and an intuitive end-to-end candidate tracking system.

How did you get started? I joined the company in March 2023 as their COO to help build out the foundational operational components of Business Draft as well as to manage all investor relations.

Describe your customers? Like Uber needs riders and drivers, Business Draft needs candidates and companies. For companies, we provide an endless pipeline of candidates, one seamless streamlined process that also includes video response technology and an intuitive end-to-end candidate tracking system. For candidates, we provide an easy intuitive way for them to match with companies and roles they are best suited for.

What do you enjoy most about the business? I love being able to make a difference in people’s lives! We have an excellent team that cares about our customers, employees and investors. We truly want to change the world and better the experience for those searching or hiring for a job today.

Window Hero West Knoxville franchisee wins Rookie of the Year

Window Hero West Knoxville owner Ben Brown was awarded the Rookie of the Year for his Window Hero location at the franchise’s parent company’s first franchisee convention earlier this month.

HomeFront Brands, the property service franchise platform with six emerging concepts in its portfolio, hosted its inaugural convention, entitled “Homecoming,” at the company’s headquarters outside of Charlotte, North Carolina earlier this month. The conference brought together franchisees, corporate employees and vendor partners to celebrate HomeFront Brands’ impressive growth since its inception in late 2022.

Brown’s commitment to his community helped him earn his Rookie of the Year Award. In the eight months his location has been open, he has cleaned the exteriors of five schools in his service area. His Window Hero location provided this service for free with the goal of revitalizing the appearance of these schools’ campuses.

“Ben’s dedication to his community and his support for local schools is a shining example of what can be achieved through hard work and determination,” said HomeFront Brands Chairman and CEO Jeff Dudan. “Our Homecoming Convention served as an example of HomeFront Brands’ remarkable growth since our founding in 2022. We owe some of our tremendous success to Ben Brown’s exceptional character and commitment to our core values.”

The Rookie of the Year Award recognizes a newcomer who displays remarkable promise, adaptability and a tireless work ethic despite being in the early stages of their ownership journey. HomeFront Brands bestowed Rookie of the Year awards to a franchise owner of each of its four core brands: Window Hero, The Designery, Top Rail Fence and Temporary Wall Systems.

“I’ve always sought opportunities to give back to my community,” Brown said. “When I opened my Window Hero location, I knew I wanted to establish my company as a source in providing a reliable service to my clients while also helping those in need. It’s an honor to receive this award and I hope to continue to deliver exceptional performance as a HomeFront Brands franchise member.”

Brown’s service-oriented approach has long been a part of his personality. He and his wife, Brittany, have always been active in their community and are the engaged parents of Cooper, Hutch and Caroline. He also coaches several of his sons’ sports teams and is active in the family’s church.
