Internships and apprenticeships are vital to introducing young workers into training programs which develop well-educated students into highly skilled employees. There are numerous opportunities available through the Tennessee Valley Youth Apprenticeships and the Arconic Foundation Global Internship Program. Additionally, the state of Tennessee offers information to employers on how to develop their own intern or apprentice program.

Tennessee Valley Youth Apprenticeships

Tennessee Valley Youth Apprenticeships is a coalition of local education and business partners committed to providing collaborative training programs which develop well-educated students into highly skilled employees.

Arconic Foundation Global Internship Program

The program is a blended model of in-person and online classes through Tooling U-SME with an option to intern in person with a local manufacturer. It consists of three paid components: 1) 12 half-days of Workforce Readiness Training; 2) 100 hours of hands-on manufacturing experience interning with a Blount County manufacturer OR an option to complete the hours online; and 3) three half-days of Follow-up, a Career Fair, and Graduation.
